CC - 1965 - 88 - Annexation No. 28RESOLUTION N0. 65-88 A RESOLUTION'OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL ANNEXATION ELECTION HELD IN THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, KNOWN AS CITY OF ROSEMEAD "ANNEXATION NO. 28" ON THE 16TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1965, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. WHEREAS, a special annexation election was held and conducted in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, in the area known as City of Rosemead'Rlnnexation Area No. 28", on Tuesday, the 16th day of November, 1965, as required by law; and WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law; and voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of elections; and WHEREAS, on the 23rd day of November, 1965, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m:, the City Council duly assembled at its usual place of meeting and has canvassed the returns of said election and as a result of which, the City Council finds that the number of votes cast and other matters required by law to be as stated hereinafter; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That there were two (2) voting precincts established for the purpose of holding said election consisting of consolidations of the regular election precincts in the County of Los Angeles as estab- lished for the holding of state and county elections. Section 2. That at said Special Annexation election, the following measure was submitted to the electors, to wit: Shall "Annexation No. 28" be annexed to the City of :Rosemead? Section 3. That the whole number of votes cast in said election (except -absent voters ballots) was 516. That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in said election was two (2) making a total of five hundred eighteen (518) votes cast in said election. Section 4. That the number of votes given at each precinct for and ga-anst the measure were as follows: 0 Section 5. The City Council does declare and determine that: As a result of said election, a majority voters voting on said measure relating to No. 28 did not vote in favor thereof, and ition was not carried. Section 6. The City Clerk shall enter on the City Coun-c Mof said City, a statement of the showing: 1. The whole number of votes 2. The measure voted upon; 3. The number of votes given against the measure; 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoptto this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
