A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD
EXPRESSING THE INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF A FRONTAGE
ROAD, A PORTION OF GLENDON WAY AND A PORTION OF RAMONA
BOULEVARD AND SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC
HEARING THEREON.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Rosemead hereby
elects to proceed under a,d pursuant to the provisions of
Division 9, Part 3 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California, and her--by declares its intention to order
the vacation of a portion of a Frontage Road, a portion of
Glendon Way and a portion of Ramona Boulevard within the City
of Rosemead as delineated and shown on the map and plan on
file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Rosemead,
particularly described as follows:
That certain frontage road, in the City of Rosemead, County
of Los Angeles, as now located and constructed, northerly of
the San Bernardino Freeway, upon, over and across those
portions of Lots 2, 4,. 6 and 8 in Block 9 of Rosemead, Sheet
2, as shown on map recorded in Book 21, pages 114 and 115,
of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County;
and that portion of Ramona Boulevard as shown on said map; and
that portion of Rio Hondo Avenue, 70.00 feet wide, described
as a whole as follows:
Beginning at a point in the southerly line of the northerly
30.00 feet of said Lot 2, said southerly line being also the
southerly line of Glendon Way, 60 feet wide, distant thereon
North 89 01149" East, 324.95 feet from the westerly line of
said Lot 2; thence South 44001149" West, 18.39 feet; thence
South 0058111" East, 328.40 feet to a tangent curve concave
northeasterly and having a radius of 88.00 feet; thence south-
easterly along said curve through an angle of 85015'19" an arc
distance of 130.88 feet; thence tangent to said curve, South
86013'30" East, 313.50 feet; thence South 88036'24' East,
663.87 feet; thence North 89000'41" East 1,153.56 feet to a
tangent curve, concave northwesterly and having a radius of
30.00 feet; thence northeasterly along this latter curve
through an angle of 89010'05" an arc distance of 46.69 feet;
thence North 69050'36" East, 60.00 feet to the westerly line
of that portion of said Rio Hondo Avenue, dedicated by Tract
No. 14424 as shown on map recorded in Book 313, page 14 of
Maps, in said office; thence along said westerly line ' South
0009'24" East, 75.70 feet to a line parallel with and distant
southerly 47.00 feet, measured at right angles from the above
described line having a length of 1,153.56 feet; thence along
said parallel line South 89 00141" West, 1242.38 feet to a
tangent curve, concave northerly and having a radius of 8,035.00
feet; thence westerly along last said curve through an angle
of 4045149" an arc distance of 668.04 feet to a line parallel
with and distant southerly 47.00 feet, measured at right angles,
from the above described line having a length of 313.50 feet;
thence along last said parallel line North 86013'30" West,
350.58 feet to a non-tangent curve, concave northeasterly and
having a radius of 140.00 feet; thence along this latter curve
northwesterly through an angle of 69053'49" an arc distance of
170.79 feet to a line parallel with and distant westerly 52.00
feet, measured at right angles from the above described line
having a length of 328.40 feet; thence tangent and along last
mentioned parallel line North 0058111" East, 328.40 feet;
thence North 45058'11" West 18.39 feet to said southerly line;
thence along said southerly line North 89001'49" East, 73.00
feet to the Point of Beginning.
EXCEPT that portion of said land, which lies easterly of a
line which is parallel with and distant westerly, 253.00 feet,
measured at right angles, from the easterly line of said Lot Lp
That portion of Glendon Way, 60 feet wide, in the City of
Rosemead, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as
now located and constructed upon, over and across the south-
erly 30.00 feet measured at right angles, of Lots 1 and 3
and the northerly 30.00 feet measured at right angles, of
Lots 2 and 4, all in Block 9 of Rosemead, Sheet 2, as shown
on the map recorded in Book 21, Pages 114 and 115 of Maps,
in the office of the recorder of said County, bounded on
the West by a line that is parallel with and distant easterly
177.25 feet, measured at right angles, from the westerly line
of said Lots 1 and 2, and bounded on the East by a line that
is parallel with and distant westerly 253.00 feet, measured
at right angles, from the easterly line of said Lots 3 and to-.
For further particulars as to the extent of said proposed
vacation, reference is made to the map and plan on file and
open to public inspection in the office of the City Clerk.
Section 2. The City Council has determined that the public
convenience and necessity require the reservation of easements
and rights of way for all existing franchises and renewals
thereof pursuant to Streets and Highways Code Sections 8330
and 3331.
Section 3. The hour of 8:00 P.M. on the 14th day of June,
1967 at-88T5 East Valley Boulevard in the City of Rosemead,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, is hereby designated
as the time and place for the public hearing in connection with
this matter and all persons interested in or objecting to the
proposed vacation may appear and be heard.
Section 4. The City Clerk is directed to post notices of
saiT pro-posed vacation conspicuously along the line of that
portion of a Frontage Road, a portion of Glendon Way and a
portion of Ramona Boulevard proposed to be vacated at least
ten (10) days before the date of said hearing. Such notices
shall be prepared and posted pursuant to Section 8322 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
