RESOLUTION NO. 66-6 3
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROSEMEAD ORDERING THE VACATION OF A PUBLIC STREET
(ALLEY EXTENDING FROM GARVEY AVENUE TO VIRGINIA
STREET LYING BETWEEN DENTON AVENUE AND SAN' GABRIEL
BOULEVARD),
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemead
did on September 13, 1966 adopt Resolution No. 66-58 entitled
"A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Rosemead
Expressing the Intention to Vacate a Portion of a Public
Street (Alley Extending From Garvey Avenue to Virginia Street
Lying Between Denton Avenue and San Gabriel Boulevard) and
Setting the Time and Place for a Public Hearing Thereon!'; and
WHEREAS, the said City Council did hold a public
hearing thereon on October 11, 1966 at 8:00 p.m. at 3018
Charlotte Avenue, City of Rosemead, State of California, at
which time said Council did hear all evidence offered by
persons interested in said vacation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemead does
hereby find that the public street (alley extending from
Garvey Avenue to Virginia Street lying between Denton Avenue
and San Gabriel Boulevard) as described and referred to in said
Resolution No. 66-58 is unnecessary for present or prospective
public street purposes,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That certain public street (alley extending
from Garvey venue to Vir inia Street lying between Denton Avenue
and San Gabriel Boulevard described as follows:
That portion of an alley 20 feet in width as shown
on map of Tract No. 4747, recorded in Book 50, page
52 of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of Los
Angeles County, being also the easterly 20 feet of
said Tract No. 4747, lying southerly of the easterly
prolongation of the southerly line of Virginia Street,
40 feet in width as shown on said Tract No. 4747.
Except therefrom that portion lying southerly of the
northerly line of Garvey Avenue, 100 feet wide as
shown on Filed Map 10882 on file in the office of
the Engineer of said County.
For further particulars as to the extent of said proposed
vacation,, reference is made to the map and plan on file and
open to public inspection in the office of the City Clerk.
Section 2. The City Council has determined that the
public convence and necessity require the reservation of
easements and rights of way for all existing franchises and
renewals thereof pursuant to Streets and Highways Code Sections
8330 and 8331, and such permanent easements and rights of way
are hereby reserved and excepted.
Section 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Rosemead
shall cause a certified copy of this Resolution and order to
be recorded in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los
Angeles.
