CC - 1966 - 75 - Street Lighting ImprovementRESOLUTION NO. 66-75 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER STREET LIGHTING IMPROVEMENT AND APPOINTING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS IN RELATION THERETO (ZONE 6 AND ZONE 3 PARCEL 3-11 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1, That'the public interest and convenience require anTit is the intention of the City Council of the City of Rosemead to order the installation, maintenance, operation, repair, supervision and all other work and services necessary for the effective operation of a street lighting system, together with all necessary appliances and appurtenances thereto in the territory hereinafter described. 1 Section 2, It is the intention of said City Council to order t-Ta a expenditures.necessary for installation, main- tenance, operation, repair, replacement, power, electric current, care, supervision and all other items necessary for the proper installation, maintenance and operation of such street lighting system shall be assessed upon the land, and as determined from time to time by the City Council, upon the.improvements, lying within the boundaries of the lighting district zone hereinafter described, which zone is the district or zone which will be benefited by, and which should be assessed to pay for such street lighting improvement. The territory within said boundaries is hereby designated as Rosemead,Street Lighting District Zone 6 and Zone 3 Parcel 3-10• Section 3. The exterior boundaries of said Rosemead Street L't97ting' 6istrict Zone 6 and Zone 3 (Parcel 3-4) are specifically described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference. Said boundaries are shown on the map attached hereto marked. Exhibit "B" and made a part hereof by reference. Section 4. Said street lighting improvement shall be for a periocr-commencing on January 1, 1967 and ending on December 31, 1976.. Section 5. The amounts to be assessed for,such improvement s(a T be levied and collected in the same manner and by the same officers as taxes for city purposes are levied and collected, in the event that.taxes for City purposes are levied and collected. Section 6. The City Council hereby declares that any lots or parcels of land belonging to the United States of America, or to the State of California, or to the County of Los Angeles, or to the City of Rosemead, or to any school district or public agency, in use in the performance of any public function, which are included within the proposed assessment district, shall be omitted from the assessment hereafter to be made to cover the costs and expenses of the proposed improvement. Section 7. The-proceedings for the formation of Rosemead Street Lighting istrict Zone 6 and Zone 3 (Parcel 3-1%) shall be pursuant to Division 14, Part 1 of the Streets and Highways Code, being the Street Lighting Act of 1919, as amended. 1 !Y. Section 8, December 27, 1966 at the hour of 8:00 dclock p,m, at t e ouncil Chambers, 3018 Charlotte Avenue, Rosemead, California, is hereby appointed as the time and place for the hearing of protests by any and all persons in relation to the street lighting improvement proposed by this resolution, Section The City.Clerk of the City of Rosemead is hereby directed to cause to be posted in the fc:rm and manner specified by Section 18071 of the Streets and Highways Code, not more than 300 feet apart, along all streets in said pro- pcsed Rosemead Street Lighting District 7one 6 and Zone 3 (Parcel 3-4) and to cause to be published by two successive insertions in the San Gabriel Valley Independent, a.weekly news- paper published and circulated in the City of Rosemead. Such publication and posting shall be completed at least ten days before the date set for the hearing of protests, . PASSED; APPROVED and.ADOPTED this 22nd day of November, 1966, ATTEST: - 2 -
