RESOLUTION NO. 67-3-
RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION
TO CITY OF ROSEMEAD OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "CITY
OF ROSEMEAD ANNEXATION AREA NU. 33," AND GIVING
NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS
THERETO.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That pursuant to the provisions of the
"Annexation o nin abited Territory Act of 1939," as amended,
the city Council of the City of Rosemead on its own motion does
hereby initiate proceedings for the annexation to the City of
Rosemead of the hereinafter described territory; that said
territory is contiguous to the City of Rosemead, is hereby desig-
nated "City of Rosemead Annexation Area No. 33," and is described
as follows:
All that property in the County of Los Angeles,
State of California, bounded and described as
follows:
Beginning at an angle point in the southerly
boundary of the City of Rosemead, as said southerly
boundary existed on October 12, 1966, said angle
point being the most westerly corner of Lot 50 of
Tract No. 701, as per map recorded,in Book 16, pages
110 and 111, of Maps, in the office of the County
Recorder of said County; thence southwesterly in a
direct line along the southwesterly prolongation of
the northwesterly line of said Lot 50 to the north-
easterly line of Lot 54 of said Tract No. 701; thence
southeasterly in a direct line along last mentioned
northeasterly line of said Lot 54 to the most easterly
corner of said Lot 54; thence westerly and northwester-
ly along the southerly and southwesterly lines of said
Lot 54 to the most westerly corner of said Lot 54, said
corner being an angle point in said southerly boundary
of the City of Rosemead; thence northeasterly and south-
easterly along said southerly boundary to the point of
beginning.
. Section 2. That said City Council desires to annex
said territory for the reasons.that it is contiguous to the City
of Rosemead and its annexation will contribute to the growth and
development of both the City of Rosemead and of said territory.
Section 3. That the Local Agency Formation Commission
of Los Ange es ounty did in session duly assembled on December 28,
1966, approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said "City of
Rosemead Annexation Area No. 33," submitted to said Commission by
the proponents of said annexation of said territory to said City.
Section 4. That February 28, 1557, at 3:00 o'clock P.M.
of said day, at .3018 Charlotte Avenue, City of Rosemead, County of
Los Angeles, State of California, is hereby fixed as the time and
place when and where any person owning real property within said
territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Rosemead and
having any objections thereto, may appear before said City Council
and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed to said
City. Protests must be in writing and filed with the City Clerk
prior to final adjournment of such hearing.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at
least twice, but not oftener than once a week in the San Gabriel
Valley independent, a newspaper of general circulation published
in the City of Rosemead and in the Alhambra Post-,advocate, a
newspaper of general circulation published outside: the City of
Rosemead but in the County of Los Angeles, Califo-nia, the county
in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed, said
publications to be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to
the date set for hearing.
Said City Clerk is further authorized end directed to
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to
each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be
annexed is assessed in the last equalized County assessment roll
available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated,
at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to said
Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and
the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either
legal or equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be given not
less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing.on the
proposed annexation.
And in the event any land within the territory proposed
to be annexed is owned by a County, said City Clerk is directed
to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed
to the Board of Supervisors of such County, such notice to be
given not less than twenty (20) days before such public hearing
on the proposed annexation.
Said City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to
be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto,
in the manner required by law.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 10th dc; of January,
1967, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen - Andersen, Jackman, Lowrey,
Maude, b.Ihiddon.
NOES: Councilmen - None.
ABSENT: Councilmen - None
