CC - Item 5C – National League of Cities 2024 Congressional City Conference – March 11th – 13th – Washington, DCROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL STAFF REPORT TO: THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: BEN KIM, CITY MANAGER<� DATE: JANUARY 9, 2024 SUBJECT: NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES 2024 CONGRESSIONAL CITY CONFERENCE — MARCH 11TH —13TH — WASHINGTON, DC SUMMARY The City Council will consider authorizing the attendance of any Council Member and City staff who wishes to attend the 2024 National League of Cities Congressional City Conference in Washington, DC from March 11 — March 13, 2024. If a majority of the City Council requests to meet with a State or Federal legislator or Department to discuss issues within a subject matter of the City's jurisdiction, a special meeting agenda must be posted at least 24 hours before the scheduled meeting. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the attendance and finance of any Council Member and City staff that attends the 2024 National League of Cities Congressional City Conference in Washington, DC from March 11 —13, 2024. ANALYSIS The Expense and Use of Public Resources Policy, adopted by City Council Resolution No. 2005-47, requires prior City Council approval for out-of-state travel beyond an adjacent state. Funding for this purpose is contained in the City's annual budget. PUBLIC NOTICE PROCESS This item has been noticed through the regular agenda notification process.
