DECEMBER 14, 2023
The special meeting of the Rosemead City Council was called to order by Mayor Ly at 5:37 p.m.
in the Rosemead City Council Chamber located at 8838 East Valley Boulevard, Rosemead,
California.
PRESENT: Mayor Ly (teleconferenced), Mayor Pro Tem Clark, Council Members Dang and Low
ABSENT: Armenta
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Kim, City Attorney Richman, and City Clerk Hernandez
1. PUBLIC COMMENT - None
2. MATTERS FROM CITY MANAGER & STAFF
A. March 5, 2024, General Municipal Election
The nomination period for the March 5, 2024, General Municipal Election was
opened from Monday, November 13, 2023, and closed on Friday, December 8,
2023. At the close of the nomination period, the following individuals were
nominated: Sean Dang and Polly Low. There being no more candidates than offices
being nominated, the City Council must take action by adopting a resolution to
cancel the March 5, 2024, General Municipal Election and appoint the nominated
individuals to a new four-year term as City Council Members.
Recommendation: That the City Council adopt Resolution No. 2023-76, cancelling
the March 5, 2024, election and appointing Sean Dang and Polly Low each to four-
year terms of office as City Councilmembers.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING
FOR THE APPOINTMENT TO THE OFFICES OF THIS
CITY THAT WERE TO BE ELECTED ON TUESDAY,
MARCH 5, 2024
City Clerk Hernandez stated the nomination period for the March 5, 2024, General
Municipal Election was held from Monday, November 13, 2023, through Friday,
December 8, 2023. At the close of the nomination period, the following individuals
were nominated: Sean Dang and Polly Low. Therefore, at this time, the City
Council may appoint the individuals who have been nominated and cancel the
election by resolution.

AGENDA ITEM 5.11
ACTION: Moved by Mayor Pro Tem Clark and seconded by Council Member Low to
adopt Resolution No. 2023-76, cancelling the March 5, 2024, election and appointing Sean
Dang and Polly Low each to four-year terms of office as City Councilmembers. The motion
was carried by the following vote: AYES: CLARK, LOW, DANG AND LY
ABSENT: ARMENTA

4. ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Ly adjourned that meeting at 5:40 p.m. The regular meeting for December 26, 2023,
went dark. The next regular City Council meeting will take place on January 9, 2024, at
7:00 p.m. in the Rosemead City Hall Council Chamber.
