CC - 1967 - 053 - Commending Robert BakerRESOLUTION N0. 67-53 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD COMMENDING ROBERT BAKER WHEREAS, the City of Rosemead wishes to honor the bravery of ROBERT BAKER and to express its appreciation and gratification for the assistance given by ROBERT BAKER to the law enforcement officials in this City; and WHEREAS, on June 12, 1967, an armed robbery occurred at Kang's Market, 8449 Mission Drive, in the City of Rosemead; and WHEREAS, shortly after the armed robbery had taken place, ROBERT BAKER and four other San Gabriel Valley youths were informed of the robbery, and, alerted by screams coming from the neighborhood, ROBERT BAKER and his companions pursued one of the armed robbery suspects through the neighborhood, and succeeded in apprehending and holding the armed robbery suspect until the arrival of Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriffs: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rosemead, State of California, extends its highest commendation to ROBERT BAKER for his alertness and bravery in apprehending and holding the armed robbery suspect; its gratitude to ROBERT BAKER for the aid and assistance given by him to the law enforcement officials of this City; and, its belief that the future of this Country is well placed in the hands of his genera- tion of which he has shown himself to be such an outstanding member; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this commendation be sent to the Sheriff of Los Angeles County, Peter J. Pitchess; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this commendation of ROBERT BAKER be permanently recorded upon the records of this City as a continuing recognition by the City Council of his outstanding achievements.
