Rosemead SAO Deputies responded to DBA "Walmart" located at 1827 Walnut Grove in the
city of Rosemead regarding a male Hispanic adult inside the store concealing multiple items.
Due to prior contacts, deputy personnel had prior knowledge of the above individual's
probation status and to have an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest.
Upon our arrival, we contacted the above suspect pending an outstanding warrant. While
conducting our investigation, the suspect fled on foot through the Walmart parking lot. The
deputies pursued the suspect on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Rosemead SAO deputies
apprehended and detained the suspect.
After conducting our investigation, a loaded firearm was discovered inside the suspect's
vehicle. Further, fraudulent identification cards were found along with narcotics.
Based on the above, the suspect was arrested on multiple felony charges.

The city of Rosemead has seen an increase in crimes, specifically crimes involving theft. Due to
the increase in crime, the Rosemead Special Assignment Team, in conjunction with The Los
Angeles County Probation Department conducted compliance checks on probationers that live
in the city of Rosemead. Eight target locations were selected to include probationers that are
high risk with arrests/convictions for various theft related crimes.
As a result of the operation, two suspects were arrested. The remaining six probationers were
determined to be in compliance with their conditions.
One probationer was arrested for an outstanding warrant for misappropriation of property and
the second probationer was arrested for possession of narcotic charges.

On Friday, May 24, 2024, between the hours of 1200-2uoo hours, the Temple Station -
Rosemead Special Assignment Team in conjunction with Major Crimes Bureau conducted an
organized retail theft suppression operation at 1827 Walnut Grove Avenue in the city of
Rosemead (DBA Walmart). The operation focused on identifying, detaining, and arresting
person(s) stealing and or co-conspirators at Walmart. Twelve individuals were identified and
either released or arrested for theft, illicit drugs, or weapons violation related crimes. All
arrestees were either cited out in the field or booked at the Temple Station jail.
As a result of the operation, ten suspects were arrested:
S/1 was arrested for felony organized retail theft 490.4(a) PC, misdemeanor shoplifting
459.5(a) PC and possession of controlled substance 11377(a) HS. Walmart recovered $209.18
worth of stolen merchandise.
S/2 was arrested for felony shoplifting with priors 459.5(a) PC. S/2 was wanted for a $50,000
felony robbery warrant. Walmart recovered $369.92 worth of stolen merchandise.
S/3 was arrested for misdemeanor possession of controlled a substance 11377(a) HS and
possession of drug paraphernalia 11364(a) HS.
S/4 was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting 459.5(a) PC. S/4 was wanted for a felony "No
Bail" probation violation warrant. Walmart recovered $81.34 worth of stolen merchandise.
S/5 was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting 459.5(a) PC and resisting/ delaying/obstructing
a peace officer 148(a)(1) PC. Walmart recovered $4.94 Forth of stolen merchandise.
S/6 and S/7 were arrested for felony organized retail theft 490.4(a) PC and misdemeanor
shoplifting 459.5(a) PC. S/6 was additionally arrested for felony possession of a baton 22210
PC and a misdemeanor shoplifting warrant. S/6 was on parole for grand theft. S/7 was
additionally arrested for possession of tear gas 2281o(a) PC and a $10,00o misdemeanor
484(a) PC warrant. Walmart recovered $267.54 worth of stolen merchandise.
S/8 and S/9 were arrested for felony conspiracy 182(a) PC and misdemeanor shoplifting
459.5(a) PC. S/10 drove away and is outstanding. Walmart recovered $45.62 worth of stolen
merchandise.
S/11 was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting 459.5(a) PC. Walmart recovered $64.34 Forth
of stolen merchandise.
SAO Deputies detained two additional persons for theft. However, due Walmart's policy,
coupled with the person's criminal history record, they were released with a trespassing
warning. Walmart recovered $28.76 worth of stolen merchandise.
The operation identified several persons suspected to be in an organized retail theft crew:
S/6 and S/7 entered Walmart, grabbed 18 cases of "Monster" energy drinks, and quickly exited
the store. SAO Deputies apprehended the suspects as they were placing the stolen merchandise
inside their vehicle.
S/8, S/9 and S/10 entered Walmart with several large bags and stole numerous hair products.
After a short vehicle pursuit, S/8 and S/9 exited the fleeing vehicle. Deputies quickly detained
and subsequently arrested both suspects. S/io drove away in the vehicle and was not
immediately apprehended. S/io and his vehicle were later identified. S/io is a named suspect
in the criminal report.
At the conclusion of the operation, Rosemead SAO team recovered a total of $1,071.30 worth of
stolen merchandise for Walmart.

SAO team members adjust schedules to work daytime and evening operations based on crime trends.
SAO team members review crime reports (SH -R-49) to identify the latest crime trends for the city of
Rosemead.

SAO team members conducted numerous, ongoing patrol checks throughout the city actively seeking
and deterring criminals/criminal activities.
SAO team members assisted code enforcement with aiding homeless individuals throughout the city
by offering information on shelter services and other outreach programs.
SAO team members continuously moved the decoy police vehicle throughout the city of Rosemead.
The decoy police vehicle has been strategically placed at various business locations throughout the
city to help deter crime.
The decoy police vehicle continues to help prevent overnight commercial burglaries. The vehicle has
been strategically placed in areas where crime trends are occurring.

Rosemead SAO Deputies attended the Rosemead Citizens Community Academy graduation.

Rosemead SAO Deputies conducted a patrol check of Stingle Avenue and noticed several
abandoned vehicles. Rosemead SAO Deputies towed 6 vehicles and cited three others.
A resident of the street thanked the Deputies for clearing out the abandoned vehicles. The
resident stated they have not been able to park in front of their house for over a year due to the
numerous vehicles parked at the location.

Rosemead SAO Deputies conducted a burglary suppression overnight. Rosemead SAO
Deputies cited several vehicles for CVC violations and arrested several individuals. A
noteworthy arrest included an individual arrested for possession of narcotics for sales.
