During a probation operation, a compliance check was conducted on a probationer on
probation for robbery. During the compliance search, several ammunition rounds, replica
handguns and replica security officer equipment were recovered. The probationer was arrested
for violating his probation and several other felony charges.

The city of Rosemead has seen an increase in crimes, specifically crimes involving theft. Due to
the increase in crime, the Rosemead Special Assignment Team, in conjunction with The Los
Angeles County Probation Department, conducted a probation compliance check, focusing on
probationers with theft records.
Target locations include probationers that are high risk with arrests/convictions for various
crimes. The Los Angeles County Probation Officers will adhere to probation department
directives and if any probationers are found in violation of his/her conditions will be subject to
arrest and probation revocations. On any new open charges, the probationer will be arrested
and booked at Temple Sheriff Station.
During the operation, seven probationers were selected throughout the city of Rosemead for a
compliance check.
At the conclusion of the operation three probationers were arrested for violating their
probation.
DAILY OPERATIONS
SAO team members adjust schedules to work daytime and evening operations based on crime trends.
SAO team members review crime reports (SH -R-49) to identify the latest crime trends for the city of
Rosemead. SAO team members conducted daily patrol checks at the following locations:

SAO team members conducted numerous, ongoing patrol checks throughout the city actively seeking
and deterring criminals /criminal activities.
SAO team members assisted code enforcement with aiding homeless individuals throughout the city
by offering information on shelter services and other outreach programs.
SAO team members continuously moved the decoy police vehicle throughout the city of Rosemead.
The decoy police vehicle has been strategically placed at various business locations throughout the
city to help deter crime.
The decoy police vehicle continues to help prevent overnight commercial burglaries. The vehicle has
been strategically placed in areas where crime trends are occurring.
(Due to recent burglaries in the area of 9026 Valley Boulevard, the decoy was deployed)

Rosemead SAO Deputies was subpoenaed to El Monte Court on a case that involved a suspect
who committed a grand theft at the Walmart in the city of Rosemead several months ago. The
suspect was a frequent offender at the Rosemead Walmart who stole medicine and vitamins
totaling over $1000 every incident. The Walmart Loss Prevention Department stated this
suspect has committed thefts at Walmart in five different occasions.
Rosemead SAO deputies were able to apprehend and arrest the suspect a few months ago
during his last theft at the Walmart. The suspect has since been in county jail waiting for a
preliminary hearing. After testifying, the suspect is held to answer and is facing a sentence of
four years in prison.
