CC - 1969 - 04 - Commending George E BrownCITY OF ROSEMEAD RESOLUTION NO. 69-4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD COMMENDING CONGRESSMAN GEORGE E. BROWN. WHEREAS, on March 8, 1969, the South San Gabriel Branch Post Office will be transferred from the jurisdiction of the San Gabriel Post Office to that of the Rosemead Post Office; and WHEREAS, the transfer of such jurisdiction will be of great benefit to the citizens of the City of Rosemead living within the South San Gabriel area, providing them with more effective and efficient mail service than was possible prior to the transfer of such jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, the transfer of jurisdiction has been greatly encouraged, aided and assisted by United States Congressman George E. Brown, particularly by his advice concerning procedural requirements for effecting the transfer of jurisdiction and his efforts on behalf of such change in persuading the United States Post Office Department that the change was both desired by the citizens of Rosemead and was an equitable change to all parties concerned. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rosemead as follows: Section 1. That United States Congressman George E. Brown is commen ed 5y the City Council on behalf of the.citizens of Rosemead for his.invaluable aid and assistance in transferring jurisdiction of the South San Gabriel Branch Post Office to the Rosemead Post' Office. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Rosemead expresses to Congressman Brown its appreciation for the way in which he has effectively cooperated and aided the citizens of Rosemead in effecting the above change of jurisdiction, exemplifying in his endeavors the highest degree of cooperation between municipal and federal government to the benefit of the citizens of the City of Rosemead. 1969.
