CC - 1969 - 35 - Competitive Pricing of County Consumer Services• w CITY OF ROSEMEAD RESOLUTION NO. 69-35 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD CONCERNING THE COMPETITIVE PRICING OF COUNTY CONSUMER SERVICES. WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles currently furnishes various consumer services through agencies of the County, which services are also offered to the consumer public by various pr4,vate enterprises within the County; and WHEREAS, in order for a healthy, private enterprise system to operate and flourish, it is necessary that such consumer services not be offered to the public at a price level below that which can be offered by efficiently managed competing private enterprise business establishments; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemead wishes to express its concern with the unfairness of a County pricing policy for consumer services furnished by the County in competition with private enterprise, where that pricing system is subsidized by those same competing private enterprises, and wishes to go on record as being opposed to such a system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rosemead as follows: 1. That the County of Los Angeles be requested to insure that in pricing its furnishing of consumer services to users of such services, which services are furnished in direct competition with private enterprise within the County, that the price at which such services are made available to the public is in no case less that that which can be realistically offered by such competing private enterprises. 2. That copies of this resolution be directed to all members of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, California. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of June, 1969. MAYOR.
