RESOLUTION NO. 69-38
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES
OF AMERICA, EXTENDING GREETINGS FROM THE
CITIZENS OF ROSEMEAD TO CITIZENS OF THE CITY
OF NIIGATA, JAPAN.
WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Rosemead believe
that the quest for world peace and understanding among all peoples
is directly fostered and benefited by providing opportunities for
the citizens of different countries to visit and temporarily reside
with families of countries other than their own; and
WHEREAS, under the sponsorship of the Lions Club,
Patricia Maude of the City of Rosemead, as a Foreign Exchange
Student, will be visiting the City of Niigata, Japan, during the
summer of 1969; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Rosemead wish to express their
thanks to the Mayor and citizens of Niigata, and to designate
Patricia Maude to convey to the Mayor and citizens of Niigata
their greetings and wish for understanding and friendship between
the peoples of Japan and the United States of America, and the
citizens of Niigata and the citizens of Rosemead.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Rosemead, California, United States of America, that
the citizens of the City of Rosemead, through their representation
by Patricia Maude, do cordially extend their appreciation and
good wishes to the Mayor and the citizens of Niigata, Japan.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of July, 1969.
