A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA AMENDING ITS DEFINITION OF
PART-TIME POSITION FOR SOCIAL SECURITY PURPOSES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, in accordance with procedure set by the Social
Security Administration with respect to proper withholding of Social
Security from wages of part-time employees, the statements set forth
below are determined as the true intention of the Rosemead City Council.
A. It was not the intention of the City to extend Social Security
coverage to any position other than Full-Time and Legislative
positions. A Legislative position being defined as an elective
position and a Full-Time position being defined as a position
requiring a 40 hour work week, 52 weeks per year.
B. In the past, the City of Rosemead has not reported for Social
Security purposes any employees other than Full-Time and
Legislative.
NOW THEREFORE, be it further resolved by the City Council
of the City of Rosemead, that pursuant to the above defined intention,
and according to the requirements of the Social=.Security Administration,
it is proposed that the following be accepted as the definition of
Part-Time Position for Social Security withholding purposes.
" A position in which services are performed by an employee
where the actual performance of duty ordinarily requires less
than that of a Full-Time employee."
