Valley Boulevard, Rosemead, California. The Pledge to the Flag was led by Councilman Imperial The Invocation was delivered by Reverend Frank Contreras of the Open Bible Church ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS: Present: Councilmembers Clark, Taylor, Imperial, Mayor Pro Tern Vasquez, and Mayor Bruesch Absent: None APPROVAL OF MINUTES: NNE 25, 2002 -REGULAR MEETING MOTION BY COUNCILMAN IMPERIAL, SECOND BY COUNCILMAN VASQUEZ that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 25, 2002, be approved as submitted. Vote resulted: Yes: Imperial, Taylor, Bruesch, Clark, Vasquez No: None Absent: None Abstain: None The Mayor declared said motion duly carried and so ordered. PRESENTATIONS: None ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE r Juan Nunez, 2702 Del Mar, Rosemead, stated that he is collecting signatures for a petition and continued that Assemblyman Mike Briggs is proposing to introduce legislation to recall or impeach the Judges on the 9° District Circuit Court that voted to remove "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance. H. PUBLIC HEARINGS - None III. LEGISLATIVE A. RESOLUTION NO. 2002-31 - CLAIMS AND DEMANDS The following Resolution was presented to the Council for adoption. CC\fM:7-23-02 Pagc N I • RESOLUTION NO. 2002-31 9 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD ALLOWING CERTAIN CLAIMS AND DEMANDS IN THE SUM OF $741,902.96 NUMBERED 38369 THROUGH 38472 MOTION BY COUNCILMAN IMPERIAL, SECOND BY MAYOR PRO TEM VASQUEZ that the Council adopt Resolution No. 2002-31. Vote resulted: Yes: Imperial, Taylor, Bruesch, Clark, Vasquez No: None Absent: None Abstain: None The Mayor declared said motion duly carried and so ordered. B. RESOLUTION NO. 2002-33 - CLAIMS AND DEMANDS, FY 2002-03 Councilman Taylor asked why the resolution numbers were out of sequence. Nancy Valderrama, City Clerk, replied that Resolution No. 2002-32 was pulled at the last moment. The Finance Department had already printed out Resolution Numbers 2002-31 and 2002-33, and once the Claims and Demands are printed, they cannot go back and change the resolution numbers. MOTION BY COUNCILMAN IMPERIAL, SECOND BY COUNCILMEMBER CLARK that the Council adopt Resolution No. 2002-33. Vote resulted: Yes: Imperial, Taylor, Bruesch, Clark, Vasquez No: None Absent: None Abstain: None The Mayor declared said motion duly carried and so ordered. Councilman Taylor requested again that he be supplied a copy of the ICMA Deferred Compensation packet. IV. CONSENT CALENDAR CC-A AUTHORIZATION TO ATTEND THE URBAN WATER INSTITUTE 9TH ANNUAL SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA URBAN WATER CONFERENCE, AUGUST 14-16, SAN DIEGO CC-B ACCEPTANCE OF SEWER EASEMENT FOR PARCEL MAP 26446: 7637-7641 GRAVES AVENUE ccMrv:7•23-02 Page #2 0 4P CC-C RENEWAL OF AGREEMENT - STREET TREE MAINTENANCE SERVICES CC-D RENEWAL OF AGREEMENT - LIGHTING SERVICES MOTION BY COUNCILMAN IMPERIAL, SECOND BY COUNCILMAN TAYLOR that the Council approve the aforementioned items on the Consent Calendar. MATTERS FROM OFFICIALS - None Councilman Imperial congratulated Bill Gunter on attending the meeting tonight and upon his recuperation. Mayor Bruesch recognized Dave Barron, City Clerk from Monterey Park, and publisher of the West Valley Journal. VIII. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE - None IX. ADJOURNMENT There being no further action to betaken at this time, the meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m. in memory of Traffic Commissioner Carmine Baffo's mother.
