We at San Gabriel High School are. looking to raise funds for our football program and to purchase uniforms for the upcoming-season. Our uniforms are old and worn out, they were purchased several seasons ago and were only expected to last 2 to 3 seasons. With the success of our football team, we have played four extra games, which include two playoff victories. We are asking for a donation of $15,000 to purchase uniforms. This donation would be subject to the title IX regulations, which means that 2/3 of the donation will go to the intended program and 1 /3 will go into a general athletic fund to be used by all athletic programs. Any donation from the city of Rosemead would be greatly appreciated. Again thank you for your support of the San Gabriel Football Program. I have secured bids for the old (50+ year old) chain link fence to be removed from the Valley Boulevard boundary. The fence would be replaced with a wrought iron fence matching the newer Mission Drive fence which was generously donated by the M.C. Gill Corporation. The current wrought iron fence between the west boundary and the maintenance shed would remain and be painted by volunteers. The contractor that did such a great job on the Mission Drive fence will match his work on the 254 feet facing Valley Boulevard. A current bid is in my possession and totals $10,662.92 1 obtained a landscaping bid from the current landscape firm that is caring for the Savannah grounds. That firm would continue the natural California plant landscaping that now exists west of the maintenance building. The California drought resistant plantings that currently exist were a gift and project by Michael Caracciolo who was working toward his Eagle Scout badge. Andre Landscape Service Inc. bid the landscaping at a total of $3,606.00 for the 254 feet facing Valley Boulevard. The combined bids for fencing and landscaping total $14,268.92. The completion of these two beautification projects would add tremendously to the appearance of Valley Boulevard in the City of Rosemead. When entering Rosemead from the east on Valley Boulevard the historic Savannah Memorial Park Cemetery is the first green belt observed by travelers. The Savannah Directors are merely custodians of a historic gem that belongs to the City of Rosemead. The addition of protective quality fencing and attractive landscaping would improve the area's look and help secure the Savannah deep into the future. Thank you very much for considering the Savannah Cemetery in your city's beautification plan. Edwin D Wiggins (Randy) President of the Savannah Memorial Park Cemetery Founded in 1850
