RESOLUTION NO. 96-36
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD PROCLAIMING SEPTEMBER 16-22,
AS POLLUTION PREVENTION WEEK
WHEREAS, the City of Rosemead supports a clean and safe environment for
its residents; and
WHEREAS, pollution prevention is an approach to environmental protection
that focuses on prevention, and is therefore, a preferable strategy
for protecting our environment; and
WHEREAS, pollution prevention can increase industrial efficiency and save
businesses money; and
WHEREAS, by focusing attention on pollution prevention, the City of
Rosemead will meet the challenges of the 90's for economic
competitiveness, environmental protection, and environmental
regulation; and
WHEREAS, Pollution Prevention Week is an opportunity for government,
industry, and environmental organizations to recognize the
potential of pollution prevention and to work together to plan for
a prosperous and sustainable future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that September 16-22, 1996, is Pollution
Prevention Week and the City of Rosemead does hereby urge all community members
and businesses of Rosemead to participate in local and regional celebratory and
educational activities.
