RESOLUTION NO. 95-19
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL '
OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD PROCLAIMING
APRIL 3-7, 1995 AS PUBLIC HEALTH WEEK
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services is committed to
improving the health of the citizens of Los Angeles County,California and
creating partnerships in the community that will promote healthy
environments for all people; and
WHEREAS, for eight years the first week in April, called Public Health Week, has
been set aside by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services
to promote public health activities and to increase the public's awareness
of the services available to the residents of Los Angeles County; and
WHEREAS, the primary goal of the annual Public Health Week is to promote
community wellness and the benefits of preventive health behaviors; and
WHEREAS, the eighth annual Public Health Week has the theme "Public Health -
Everybody's Business"; and
WHEREAS, the goals of "Healthy Los Angeles 2000" and the "California Healthy
Cities" projects are best served when all residents are involved in
creating healthful neighborhoods for children, family and community; and
WHEREAS, all Los Angeles residents are invited to attend the Opening Ceremonies
at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and all local health center activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Mayor Robert Bruesch, on behalf of the
Rosemead City Council, proclaim the week of April 3-7, 1995, as
PUBLIC HEALTH WEEK
in this City, and in so doing, urge all citizens, community agencies,
clubs, and organizations to focus efforts toward creating a "Healthy Los
Angeles 2000".
