RESOLUTION NO. 94-32
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD SUPPORTING THE EFFORTS OF
THE LOS ANGELES DIVISION OF THE LEAGUE OF
CALIFORNIA CITIES LEADERSHIP COMMISSION ON
CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
WHEREAS, all of California is faced with the challenge to
improve the quality of life for children and families; and
WHEREAS, the Rosemead City Council is on record as supporting
the family unit as indicated by the City's sponsorship of an annual
"Family of the Year" award and a parade with the theme of "Rosemead
Salutes the Family"; and
WHEREAS, the Rosemead City Council recognizes that many times
the intergovernmental programs that are supposed to be of assistance
can, in fact, be part of the problem; and
WHEREAS, the Rosemead City Council recognizes that the
improvement or the quality of life for children and families in our
complex society requires a joint commitment of all levels of
government and all segments of the community; and
WHEREAS, the Rosemead City Council is willing to provide
leadership necessary to make changes in the system to better meet the
needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, passage of AB1741 now offers Los Angeles County an
opportunity to participate in a five year program to test the
blending of various children's service funding to provide more
integrated services for children and families.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Rosemead does hereby resolve that it supports the efforts of the
Los Angeles County Division of the League of California Cities
Leadership Commission on Children and Families.
