ROSEMEAD REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
NOVEMBER 14, 2000
The regular meeting of the Rosemead Agency was called to order by Chairman
Clark at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room of City Hall, 8838 E. Valley Boulevard,
Rosemead, California.
The Pledge to the Flag was led by Chairman Clark
The Invocation was led by Agencymember Taylor
ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS:
Present: Agencymembers Bruesch, Vasquez, Taylor, Vice Chairman Imperial, and
Chairman Clark
Absent: None
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
1. RRA RESOLUTION NO. 2000- CLAIMS AND DEMANDS
The following Resolution was presented to the Agency for adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2000-28 - CLAIMS AND DEMANDS
A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD ALLOWING CERTAIN CLAIMS AND
DEMANDS IN THE SUM OF $9953.32 AND DEMANDS NO. 6139
THROUGH 6148
MOTION BY AGENCYMEMBER BRUESCH, SECOND BY
AGENCYMEMBER VASQUEZ that the Agency adopt Resolution No. 2000-28. Vote
resulted:

The Chairman declared said motion duly carried and so ordered.
2. MATTERS FROM OFFICIALS
Agencymember Taylor asked what the status is of the joint project with the City
of El Monte with regards to tenants.
Frank Tripepi, Executive Director, stated that nothing has transpired. However,
he had a meeting with a representative from Walmart (Joe Meyer, developer for
Walmart) and after looking at the site, Mr. Meyer stated that this is not a development
that is going to come together with an architect, but if the project will need a "career
developer" if a Walmart or Sam's Club is involved. Mr. Tripepi stated that Mr. Meyer
looked at the property by Edison on Walnut Grove and he seemed very interested.
Agencymember Taylor asked if other stores, such as, Target or Food For Less
have been contacted.
Mr. Tripepi stated that Mr. McCoy has contacted those stores and also Von's, but
they are not interested.

Agencymember Taylor requested that a report be brought back bringing the
Agency up-to-date on what has been transpiring with this project and what the Agency
has to put on the table.
Mr. Tripepi stated that he recently attended a conference in Palm Springs where
all the major businesses in the western United States was represented. After talking to
the representatives, the general consensus among them was unless the property is
guaranteed, they will not commit to the project.
Agencymember Taylor requested that this item be placed on the next Agency
agenda.
3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE ON
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MATTERS - None
4. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further action to be taken at this time, the meeting was adjourned
at 7:10 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for November 28, 2000, at
7:00 p.m.
