CC- 1989-06 - Agency payment for curb repairsRESOLUTION NO. 89-6 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS AND DETERMINATIONS WITH RESPECT TO REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY PAYMENT FOR THE REPAIR OF CURBS, GUTTERS, AND SIDEWALKS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE CITY. WHEREAS, the curb, gutter, and sidewalk concrete repair program will take place at locations within and adjacent to the boundaries of Project Area No. 1 as depicted in "Exhibit A," and WHEREAS, the concrete repairs to be made on curbs, gutters, and sidewalks inside and in areas adjacent to Project Area No. 1 will improve the area aesthetically and structurally, thus benefitting the Project Area by increasing property values and by reducing potential liability due to raised sidewalks and curbs. NOW, THEREFORE, the Rosemead City Council resolves as follows: SECTION 1. The City Council finds, determines, and declares: (a) The payment by the Rosemead Redevelopment Agency for concrete repairs of curb, gutter, and sidewalk on various streets inside and adjacent to Project Area No. 1, as depicted on "Exhibit A," is of benefit to the Project Area. This finding is based on the fact that the repairs made at the locations indicated on "Exhibit All will serve to enhance property values in Project Area No. 1 by improving the condition of curbs, gutters and sidewalks at various locations inside and in areas adjacent to the project area. (b) That there are no other reasonable means of financing such buildings, facilities, structures or other improvements available to the community. Although the City has a General Fund surplus, the uncertainty of continuing municipal revenue sources militates against the depletion of the existing reserves until such time as revenue sources and major requires expenditures are stabilized. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this.?4th day of January, 1989.
