CC- 1989-10 - Increase in Water Rates• 0 RESOLUTION NO. 89-10 RESOLUTION OF THE ROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL OPPOSING THE INCREASE IN.WATER RATES REQUESTED BY THE CALIFORNIA-AMERICAN WATER COMPANY WHEREAS, the Rosemead City Council received notification from the California-American Water Company that it was requesting a 52% increase in water rates to take effect during test years 1989 through 1991; and WHEREAS, representatives from the California-American Water Company attended the regular meeting of the Rosemead City Council held on January 10, 1989, to explain the rate request; and WHEREAS, the Rosemead City Council considered the arguments presented on January 10, 1989, and concluded that the evidence presented was not sufficient to justify a 52% increase over a period of three years; and WHEREAS, representatives of the City of Rosemead attended an evidentiary hearing held by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) on January 25, 1989, to state the City's opposition to the rate increase proposed by the California-American Water Company. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Rosemead City Council formally opposes the amount of the rate increase requested by the San Marino District of the California-American Water Company. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this =PY-CLERK- day of February,1989.
