SUBJECT: CITY COUNCIL MEETING TIME CHANGE - SECOND READING
SUMMARY
Recently, members of the City Council have requested that the meeting time for both
Community Development Commission and City Council meetings be altered. It has been
proposed that Community Development Commission meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and that
City Council meetings begin at 7:00 p.m.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council approve Ordinance No. 852 on second reading
(Attachment A), changing the start time for Community Development Commission
meetings to 6:00 p.m. and the start time for City Council meetings to 7:00 p.m.
ANALYSIS
Section 2.04.060A of the City's Municipal Code (Attachment B) states that City Council
meetings are to begin at 8 p.m. Members of the City Council have expressed a desire to
change the meeting start time to 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. for the Community Development
Commission and the City Council, respectively. Based on this development, staff has
prepared Ordinance No. 852 for City Council consideration.

ORDINANCE NO. 852
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ROSEMEAD AMENDING MUNICIPAL SECTION
2.04.060A TO CHANGE THE STARTING TIME OF CITY
COUNCIL MEETINGS.
The City Council of the City of Rosemead ordains as follows
WHEREAS, members of the City Council have expressed an interest in changing
the starting time for both Community Development Commission and City Council
Meetings; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed that Community Development Commission Meetings
begin at 6:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed that City Council Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. on the
second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 2.04.060A of the Rosemead Municipal Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
SECTION 2.04.060. ORGANIZATION AND PROCEDURES
A. Order of Business. Promptly at 6:00 p.m. on the second and fourth
Tuesday of each month, the members of the Community Development
Commission, Executive Director, Commission Attorney, or other
officers shall assemble for the purpose of conducting Community
Development Commission meetings. Furthermore, promptly at 7:00
p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, the members
of the Council, City Manager, City Clerk, City Attorney or other officers,
shall assemble at their regular stations in the Council Chambers,
whereupon the business of the meeting shall be taken up in the order
as the City Council may, from time to time, prescribe by resolution.

Section 2.04.060: Meetings--Organization and procedures.
A. Order of Business. Promptly at eight p.m. on the night of each regular
meeting, the members of the Council, City Manager, City Clerk, City Attorney
or other officers, shall assemble at their regular stations in the Council
chambers, whereupon the business of the meeting shall be taken up in the
order as the City Council may, from time to time, prescribe by resolution.
