Brainstormed List of Peroaptions • Rosemead's streets are in the best physical condition • The city provides a full array of services • The Dept of Justice will leave us soon • Restructuring of the City Clerk's Dept • Rosemead has the attention of investors • The City Council has been generous in allowing staff to go to conferences, etc. • We have strong staff • We have a City Hall remodel plan • Were engaging in strategic planning; there's a commitment by staff and City Council • Elected officials and some staff are seen as regional leaders • Better communication with current and new businesses • Were upgrading our public image with street, media and signage programs • Diversity of the city • Economic potential • Location • People are passionate in the city • Very good community facility • Potential opening up of teen centers • Financial strength; money is in the bank • Public Works Dept is helping with economic development; giving input • Refinement of our entitlement process • Better internal communication processes are being developed • Our bulk item pick up has improved; good trash contract • Diversity of the Council is catching up with the diversity of the city • Intersection improvements • The community is willing to work with us and participate to move forward • Working on an updated General Plan • Upgrading our web site • Development of the Public Safety Dept. • Most of the employees like working in the city • Improved financial reporting • Were upgrading bridges; completed one bridge and starting on another WHAT'S NOT GOING AS WELL AS YOU WOULD LIKE? The City Council of the City of Rosemead ordains as follows: WHEREAS, members of the City Council have expressed an interest in changing the starting time for both Community Development Commission and City Council Meetings; and WHEREAS, it is proposed that Community Development Commission Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month; and WHEREAS, it is proposed that City Council Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 2.04.060A of the Rosemead Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 2.04.060. ORGANIZATION AND PROCEDURES A. Order of Business. Promptly at 6:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, the members of the Community Development Commission, Executive Director, Commission Attorney, or other officers shall assemble for the purpose of conducting Community Development Commission meetings. Furthermore, promptly at 7:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, the members of the Council, City Manager, City Clerk, City Attorney or other officers, shall assemble at their regular stations in the Council Chambers, whereupon the business of the meeting shall be taken up in the order as the City Council may, from time to time, prescribe by resolution.
