SUBJECT: AB 1234 MEETING REPORTS
SUMMARY
The City Clerk has received a written report filed by Mayor Pro Tern Nunez,
Councilmember Clark, Councilmember Imperial, Councilmember Tran, City Manager,
City Attorney and staff.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council receive and file said reports:
ANALYSIS
AB 1234 requires that the City Councilmembers and staff provide a brief report on
meetings attended at City expense at the next regular City Council meeting.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Expenditures for these conferences and meetings are appropriated in the 2005-06
Annual Budget.

Councilmember Clark attended SCAG's Solid Waste Task Force meeting on March 31,
2006, Regional Council meeting on April 6, 2006, By Laws Committee meeting on April
19, 2006, Energy Working Group meeting on April 25, 2006, and Solid Waste Task
Force meeting on April 27, 2006. On April 27, 2006, Councilmember Clark attended the
Los Angeles & San Gabriel Rivers Watershed Special Board meeting.
Andy Lazzaretto and Brad Johnson met with Larry Moss, Landscape Architect, on May
1, 2006 regarding future projects.
Mayor Pro Tem Nunez, Councilmember Clark, Councilmember Tran, Andy Lazzaretto,
Nina Castruita, Oliver Chi, Jim Donovan and Karen Ogawa attended the City Hall Tours
on May 2, 2006.
Councilmember Clark, Councilmember Tran, Andy Lazzaretto and Lieutenant Wallace
attended the Los Angeles 37th Annual Peace Officer's Memorial on May 3, 2006.

League of California Cities City Attorney Conference, held on May 19 - 20, 2006, was
attended by Peter Wallin.
Mayor Pro Tern Nunez and Oliver Chi attended the League of California Cities General
Membership Dinner Meeting on May 4, 2006.
Mayor Pro Tern Nunez, Andy Lazzaretto, Donald Wagner and Brad Johnson attended
the Rosemead Chamber of Commerce Annual Planning Conference on May 4 - 5,
2006.
Mayor Pro Tern Nunez attended the League of California Cities Legislative Action Days
conference on May 17 - 18, 2006.
The California Contract Cities Association 47th Annual Municipal Seminar, held on May
18 - 21, 2006, was attended by Mayor Pro Tern Nunez, Councilmember Imperial, Andy
Lazzaretto, Donald Wagner, Oliver Chi, Peter Wallin and Ken Rukavina.
Mayor Pro Tern Nunez, Councilmember Tran, Oliver Chi and Brad Johnson attended
the International Council of Shopping Centers Spring Convention on May 21 - 24, 2006.
Nina Castruita attended the International Institute of Municipal Clerks on May 14 -18,
2006.
Councilmember Clark attended SCAG's Energy and Environment Committee meeting
on May 4, 2006 and the Energy Working Group meeting on May 23, 2006. She also
attended the League of California Cities Energy, Environment and Natural Resources
Steering Committee meeting on May 18 - 20, 2006.
