LAZZARETTO, CITY MANAGE DATE: October 10, 2006 SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION TO ATTEND LEAUGE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES 2006 CITY CLERKS NEW LAW AND ELECTION SEMINAR, DECEMBER 6-8, 2006, LA JOLLA, CA. SUMMARY For your consideration is information regarding the League of California Cities 2006 City Clerks New Law and Election Seminar set to take place December 6-8, 2006, in La Jolla, California. Staff Recommendation Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Clerk to attend the League of California Cities New Law and Election Seminar at City expense. ANALYSIS Seminar sessions will include workshops on New Law and Election updates, FPPC, the Administrative Record, Candidate Packets, Federal Voting Rights Act and its provisions, Ethics AB 1234, Recalls, Initiatives and Referendums, and Meeting Rules of Order.
