RE: ORDINANCE NO. 841 - SETTING CITY COUNCIL SALARIES
As the Council is aware, AB 11, effective January 1, 2006 will substantially reduce the total
compensation of the Council from the combined City and Community Development
Commission salaries.
The City Council salary was last adjusted to $920.30 per month, effective in 2001.
State law allows the salary to be adjusted by 5% for each calendar year since the last adjustment.
The attached ordinance would increase the Council salary to $1,118.63 per month. As required
by state law, the adjusted salary would not take effect until the commencement of a new term on
the City Council.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council waive further reading and introduce Ordinance No. 841, an ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD SETTING COUNCIL SALARIES.
