CC - 1988-37 - Resurfacing and Concrete repair project on various streets in Project area no 10 • RESOLUTION NO. 88-37 A RESOLUTION OF THE ROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS AND DETERMINATIONS WITH RESPECT TO REDEVELOPMENT PARTICIPATION IN THE RESURFACING AND CONCRETE REPAIR PROJECT ON VARIOUS STREETS IN PROJECT AREA NO. 1 WHEREAS, the streets depicted in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference provide automobile access throughout Project Area No. 1; and WHEREAS, the scope of the project will provide resurfacing and certain concrete repair work for curbs, gutters, and sidewalks of portions of Rockhold Avenue, Artson Street, Whitmore Street, Dorothy Avenue, Delta Avenue, Charlotte Avenue, Rose Glen Avenue, Chariette Avenue, Ivar Street, Denton Avenue, Brighton Street, Fern Avenue, and Earle Avenue; and WHEREAS, the completion of the resurfacing and repair work on the streets designated in Exhibit "A" will provide•improved traffic flow and pedestrian access within Project Area No. 1; NOW, THEREFORE, the Rosemead City Council resolves as follows: Section 1. The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows:, (a) The payment of the total cost, currently estimated to be Three Hundred and Ninety-Eight Thousand Dollars ($398,000) by the Rosemead Redevelopment Agency, of the resurfacing and curb, gutter, and sidewalk repair on•the various streets depicted in Exhibit A is of benefit to Project Area No. 1. This finding is based upon the fact that the resurfacing and repair project of various streets, as defined previously, will provide improved access for automobile traffic within Project Area No. 1; and upon the fact that the aforementioned project will improve the streets depicted in Exhibit A, thus increasing property values within Project Area No. 1. (b) That there are no other reasonable means of financing such buildings,.facilities, structures or other improvements available to the community. Although the City has a General Fund surplus, the uncertainity or the economy and continuing municipal revenue sources militates against the 'depletion of the existing reserves. Section 2. The City Clerk will certify to the adoption of this Resolution. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 1988.
