A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD VACATING AN ALLEY NORTH
OF GARVEY AVENUE BETWEEN JACKSON AVENUE
AND PROSPECT AVENUE
The City Council of the City of Rosemead resolves as follows:
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 87-23 of the City Council of the City of Rosemead
expressed its intention to vacate a 10-foot wide alley legally described as
follows:
A portion of Lot 8, of Block 2, of the Subdivision of the Garvey
Ranch, as shown in Book 32 of Miscellaneous Records, Pages 43 and 44,
Records of Los Angeles County, California;
Beginning on the east line of Prospect Avenue 50 feet wide; distant 210
feet northerly from the north line of Garvey Avenue 100 feet wide;
thence easterly parallel to said north line of Garvey Avenue to the west
line of Jackson Avenue as said Avenue is shown on said map of the
Subdivision of the Garvey Ranch; said intersection with Jackson Avenue
being 210 feet northerly of the north line of Garvey Avenue 100 feet
wide.
Also the alley is identified as follows:
Adjacent to the following parcels of land (7533, 7539 Garvey Avenue,
A. P. No. 5286-22-007) (7545 Garvey Avenue, A. P. No. 5286-22-006)
(3019 Jackson Avenue, A. P. No. 5286-22-001) (3025 Jackson Avenue,
A. P. No. 5286-21-008) (3022 Prospect Avenue, A. P. No. 5286-21-
007).
A drawing of the 10-foot wide alley described herein is attached as Exhibit
A.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on July 28, 1987, at 8 p.m. in the
Council Chamber of the City Hall, 8838 E. Valley Boulevard, Rosemead,
California, at which time the City Council found, from all evidence
submitted, that the alley described herein was unnecessary for present or
prospective street purposes.
WHEREAS, the public hearing was published and posted as required by law;
WHEREAS, this vacation procedure conforms to the requirements of Section
8300 to 8349 of the Streets and Highways Code.
NOW, THEREFORE be it resolved that the City Council of the City of
Rosemead orders the vacation of the alley described herein;
Be it further resolved that an easement is reserved and excepted from this
vacation for the purpose of constructing, maintaining, replacing, removing,
and renewing a storm drain and appurtenant structures in, upon, over, and
across the 10-foot wide alley described herein.
