A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ROSEMEAD DENYING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
NO. 85-331.(3015-21 SULLIVAN AVENUE)
APPLICANT: CHINESE HOPE BAPTIST CHURCH
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds, determines and declares
as follows:
a. An application for a conditional use permit authoriz-
ing the establishment of a church, related classrooms
and on-site parking at 3015-21 Sullivan Avenue was duly
filed by the Chinese Hope Baptist Church; and
b. That on August 5, 1985 the Planning Commission conducted
a duly noticed public hearing on the application; and
c. That the Planning Commission, by its Resolution No. 85-27
approved the requested conditional use permit; and
d. That an appeal to the Commission's approval was duly
filed by Doris Karns, Georgia Campbell, Hy Leerlink,
and Elizabeth Houchen; and
e. That on September 10, 1985 the City Council conducted
a duly noticed public hearing on the application.
SECTION 2. The City Council finds, pursuant to Section 9180
of the Rosemead Zoning Code, that the proposed church would be
detrimental to surrounding properties in that parking, and increased
traffic would adversely impact a residential neighborhood.
SECTION 3. Based upon the findings listed above, the City
Council hereby denies the application for Conditional Use Permit
No. 85-331.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
his Resolution and shall transmit a copy thereof to the applicant
and the appellent.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 24th day of September, 1985.
