CC - 1985-46 - Replacement Fire Station at 2644 San Gabriel BlvdRESOLUTION NO. 85-46
A RESOLUTION OF THE ROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL
MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS AND DETERMINATIONS
WITH RESPECT TO CONSTRUCTION OF A REPLACEMENT
FIRE STATION AT 2644 SAN GABRIEL BOULEVARD,
ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, the existing Los Angeles County Fire Station, located at
2644 San Gabriel Boulevard is inadequate to serve the new developments
which surround it; and
WHEREAS, the said'station is located within Project Area No. 1 of
the Rosemead Redevelopment Agency; and
WHEREAS, improved fire protection and suppression facilities will
enhance the growth potential of the Project Area.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Rosemead City Council resolves as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds, determines and declares:
(a) The payment by the Rosemead Redevelopment Agency of the
costs of constructing, on the present fire station site, a new fire
station for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, at an estimated cost
of $800,000, is of benefit to Project Area No. 1. This finding is based
upon the fact that new and improved fire protection and suppression
facilities will encourage improvements to existing developments and
also encourage new developments.
(b) That there are no other reasonable means of financing
such buildings, facilities, structures or other improvements available
to the community. Although the City has a general fund surplus, the
uncertainty of continuing municipal.revenue sources militates against
the depletion of the existing reserves at this time.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 22nd day of October, 1985.
