1) Those wishing to speak on any Agenda Item, including public hearing, should have their
Speaker Request Form submitted to the City Clerk no later than the time immediately
following Oral Communications.
2) Immediately after approval of the minutes and again at the end of the meeting, there is a
period of time set aside for those persons wishing to address the Council on matters not
listed on the Agenda entitled: ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE
(please complete the Speaker Request Form stating your preference to speak either at the
beginning or at the end of the meeting).
3) Upon request, this agenda will be made available in appropriate alternative formats to

Recommendation: Adopt Resolution No. 2005-01, for payment of City
expenditures.

IV. ONSENT CALENDAR - RECOMMENDATION: APPROVAL
yCC-A 2005-06 BUDGET CALENDAR
The proposed budget study session is scheduled for Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at
6:00 p.m.
Recommendation: Approve the 2005-06 Budget Calendar.

CC-B RELEASE OF BOND - PARCEL MAP 26776 - 3323-27 MUSCATEL
AVENUE
To guarantee construction of house sewer laterals, curb and gutter, sidewalk and
driveway as part of the development of Parcel Map 26776, a Certificate of
Deposit was issued to the City in the amount of $10,500. The completed
improvements have been inspected and approved by the City Engineer.
Recommendation: Accept the public improvements and release the Certificate
of Deposit.
CC-C AUTHORIZATION TO REJECT CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY FROM
ANDREA GONZALEZ, NILDA GOMEZ AND ANTHONY MILLSAPS
The aforementioned three incidents occurred on the same morning and were for
damages to the claimants' vehicles when driving over a construction trench
during a heavy rain.
Recommendation: Approve rejection of these claims and authorize that a letter
of rejection be sent to the claimants.
CC-D REQUEST FOR RED CURB AT 2435 DEL MAR AVENUE
The City Engineer received a request from the resident at 2435 Del Mar Avenue
for the installation of red curb due to difficulty exiting the driveway when
vehicles are parked in association with Williams School. The Traffic
Commission recommended installing 10 feet of red curb on each side of the
driveway.
Recommendation: Approve the Traffic Commission's recommendation to
install 10 feet of red curb on each side of the driveway at 2435 Del Mar Avenue.
CC-E REQUEST FOR RED CURB ON GLADYS AVENUE SOUTH OF GARVEY
AVENUE (WALGREENS)
The City Engineer received a request from Walgreens to install red curb on
Gladys Avenue south of Garvey Avenue adjacent to the delivery dock. The
Traffic Commission recommended installing 17 feet of red curb in front of 2749
Gladys Avenue.
Recommendation: Approve the Traffic Commission's recommendation to
install 17 feet of red curb in front of 2749 Gladys Avenue.
CC-F AUTHORIZATION TO ATTEND ANNUAL NATIONAL AMERICAN
PLANNING ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE, MARCH 19-23, 2005, SAN
FRANCISCO
This year's seminar topics will range from environmental updates, housing policy,
zoning issues, transportation and regional planning issues.
Recommendation: Authorize attendance of Planning Director.

CC-G AUTHORIZATION TO ATTEND 2005 LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES
CITY MANAGERS DEPARTMENT CONFERENCE - FEBRUARY 2-4, 2005,
MONTEREY
This year's sessions will include the impact of the State and Federal Budgets,
ethics and emergency preparedness.
Recommendation: Authorize the attendance of the City Manager.
CC-H AUTHORIZATION TO PLACE AD IN PROGRAM FOR THE LINCOLN
TRAINING CENTER'S 21ST ANNUAL AFFAIR OF THE HEART AWARD'S
DINNER, MARCH 12, 2005
A request has been received from the Co-Chairs of the Affair of the Heart to place
a half-page ad in their program.
Recommendation: Authorize staff to place a half-page ad in the program at a
cost not to exceed $275.00.
