1) Those wishing to speak on any Agenda Item, including public hearing, should have their
Speaker Request Form submitted to the City Clcrk no later than the time immediately
following Oral Communications.
2) Immediately after approval of the minutes and again at the end of the meeting, there is a
period of time set aside for those persons wishing to address the Council on matters not
listed on the Agenda entitled: ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE
(please complete the Speaker Request Form stating your preference to speak either at the
begirming or at the end of the meeting).
3) Upon request, this agenda will be made available in appropriate alternative formats to

/ Recommendation: Adopt Resolution No. 2005-02, for payment of City
expenditures.

1V. CONSENT CALENDAR - RECOMMENDATION: APPROVAL
CC-A REQUEST FOR RED CURB ON GERNERT AVENUE AT STEELE STREET
The City Engineer received a request to install red curb on Gernert Avenue at
Steele Street. The request stems from the high volume of parked vehicles on
Gernert Avenue inhibiting the visibility of vehicles on Steele Street.
Recommendation: Approve the Traffic Commission's recommendation to
install 20 feet of red curb on the east side of Gernert Avenue north and south of
Steele Street.
CC-B AUTHORIZATION TO ATTEND 2005 INTERCONTINENTAL
CONFERENCE ON TERRORISM AND ASIAN ORGANIZED CRIME, MAY
2-6,2005, LOS ANGELES
In the past, the City Council has authorized the attendance of Rosemead's two
special assignment Sheriff's deputies and Mayor Pro Tern Imperial. This year's
conference will provide networking, training, and education on combating and
preventing the rise of terrorism, organized crime and street gangs.
Recommendation: Authorize the attendance of Deputies Valenzuela and Zarate
and Mayor Pro Tem Imperial.
CC-C APPROVAL OF CONCESSION STAND LICENSE AGREEMENT -
ROSEMEAD YOUTH ASSOCIATION
The Rosemead Youth Association (R.Y.A) has requested the use of the
concession stands at Garvey and Rosemead Parks from February 9, 2005 through
July 31, 2005.
Recommendation: Approve the License Agreement and authorize its execution
by the Mayor.
CC-D AUTHORIZATION FOR CAPTAIN RICHARD SHAW TO ATTEND
SPECIAL LAW ENFORCEMENT CULTURAL VISIT TO HONG KONG AND
MAINLAND CHINA, MARCH 14-20,2005
The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department and E-Bestofasia.com have
arranged a special law enforcement cultural visit to Hong Kong and Mainland
China. The attendees will have the opportunity to learn how the (long Kong
Police Department and the Mainland Chinese Police Department apply their law
enforcement duties and interact with the citizens they protect and serve. It is
anticipated that there will be approximately 60 management and line level
personnel from the Sheriff's Department participating.
Recommendation: Authorize the attendance of Temple Station Commander,
Captain Richard Shaw.
