CC - 1979-08 - Vacattion Act of 1941RESOLUTION NO. 79-8 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A STREET PURSUANT TO THE STREET VACATION ACT OF 1941 AND FIXING THE TI14E AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING THEREON. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES RESOLVE THAT: WHEREAS, 100% of the frontage property owners on Virginia Street running east of Denton Street,in the City of Rosemead, have requested that the City vacate said street; and WHEREAS, on February 5, 1979, the Planning Commission of the City of Rosemead found that the subject street vacation would be in conformity with the general plan for the City of Rosemead; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Rosemead declares its intention to vacate, pursuant to the Street Vacation Act of 1941 (Streets and Highways Code § 8320 et seq.) the following street: Virginia Street beginning at a point approximately 50 feet east of the intersection of Virginia Street and Denton Avenue to the Eastern terminus of Virginia Street. SECTION 2. Said street is described on the official map of the City of Rosemead, which is located in the office of the City Clerk, and which is regularly available for public inspection. SECTION 3. A Public Hearing on the proposed vacation of said street shall be held in the Chambers of the City Council of the City of Rosemead at 8838 East Valley Boulevard, in the City of Rosemead, California, on March 27, 1979 at 8:00 p.m. SECTION 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to post notices of said public hearing and publish notice thereof as required by Streets and Highways Code § 8322 and the Rosemead Municipal Code.
