A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE.CITY OF
ROSEMEAD CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE
HOLDING OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 21st DAY OF
JANUARY , 1975, FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE
QUALIFIED VOTERS OF SAID CITY THE QUESTION OF
THE RECALL OF A CERTAIN.OFFICER OF SAID CITY AND
THE QUESTION OF FILLING THE VACANCY IF THE RECALL
PREVAILS AS REQUIRED BY THE.STATE OF CALIFORNIA
PERTAINING TO CITIES.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the law relating to
General Law Cities in the State of California, recall petitions
were filed demanding the recall of Councilman Kenneth M. Pike
and
WHEREAS, said petition were signed by more than 258 of
the qualified voters of the City of Rosemead and
WHEREAS, the question of filling the vacancy by appoint-
ment or by special election if the recall prevails shall also
appear on the recall ballot;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the
laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities
within said State, there shall be and is hereby called and ordered,
held in the City of Rosemead , County of Los An~elgy-. State
of California, on Tuesday, the 21stday of January , 19-14-1
a Special Municipal Election of tTie qualified electors o said City,
for the purpose of submitting the question of the recall of Council-
man Kenneth M. Pike , and the question of filling the vacancy
by appointment or by special election if the recall prevails.
SECTION 2. That on the ballots to be used at said
Municipal Election, in addition to any other matters required by
law, there shall be printed substantially the following:
INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTERS: To vote on any measure relating
to the recall of any officer, stamp a cross in the
voting square after the word "Yes" or after the word
"No". To vote on the measure relating to the filling of
the vacancy if the recall prevails, stamp a cross
in the voting square after the words "By Appointment"
or after the words "By Special Election".
All marks, except the cross are forbidden. All'dis-
tinguishing marks or erasures are forbidden and make
the ballot void.
If you wrongly stamp, tear or deface this ballot, return
it to the inspector of election and obtain another.
On absent voter ballots mark a cross with pen or
pencil.
In addition, on the ballots to be used at said Special Election there
shall be printed substantially the following:

BY APPOINTMENT
BY SPECIAL ELECTION
SECTION 3. A cross placed in the voting square after
the word "Yes" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted
in favor of the recall of the officer. A cross placed in the
voting square after the word "No" in the manner hereinbefore pro-
vided shall be counted against the recall of the officer. A cross
placed in the voting square after the words "By Appointment"
in the manner as hereinbefore provided shall be counted for filling
the vacancy square after the words "By Special Election" in the
manner as hereinbefore provided shall be counted for filling the
vacancy by special election.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk of the City of Rosemeadi_d
is hereby authorized; instructed and directed to procure and furnish
any and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all sup-
plies,.equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to
properly and lawfully conduct said election.
. SECTION 5. That the polls for said election shall be open
at 7:00 A.M. of the day of said election and shall remain open con-
tinuously from said time until 7:00 P.M. of the same day, when said
polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14436 of the
Elections Code of the State of California.
SECTION 6. That in all particulars not recited in this
Resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided
by law for holding special elections in said City.
SECTION 7. That notice of the time and place of holding
said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby author-
ized, instructed and directed to give further or additional notice
of said election in time, form and manner as required by law.
SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in
the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a
minute of the passage and adoption-thereof in the records of the
proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the
meeting at which same is passed and adopted.
SECTION 9. That this Resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately.
