CC - 1975-03 - Declaring resultsRESOLUTION NO. 75-3 0 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY OF ROSEMEAD ON THE 21ST DAY OF JANUARY, 1975, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Rosemead, County of Los Angeles, State of California, on Tuesday, the 21st day of January, 1975, as required by law; and WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in cities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 74-82, adopted the 12th day of November, 1974, the City Clerk of the City of Rosemead canvassed the returns of said election and has certified the results to this City Council, said results are received; attached and made a part hereof. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That there were 19 voting precincts established for the purpose of holding said election consisting of the regular election precincts in the City of Rosemead as established for the holding of State and County Elections. SECTION 2. That said Special Municipal Election was held for the purpose of determining Recall Measures as required by the laws . relating to cities in the State of California..' SECTION 3. That the whole number of votes cas in said City (except for absent voter ballots) was 4,912. That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in said City was 27, making a total of 4,939 votes cast in said City. SECTION 4. That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given in the City to each measure were as listed in the attached. SECTION 5. The City Council does hereby declare and determine that: (1) Kenneth M. Pike shall be Recalled from the Office of Member of the City Council. (2) There shall be a Special Election called to fill the vacancy of Kenneth M. Pike which ends March, 1976. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of said City, a statement of the result of said election, showing: (1) The whole-number of votes cast in the city; (2) The Measures voted for; (3) The number of votes given at each precinct; and (4) The number of votes given in the city to each measure. • Page Two Resolution Declaring Results of Special Municipal Election 16~ PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 28th day of January, 1975 L-Mayor of the C-itVof Rosemead ATTEST: -Ci y Cle 75-3 0 SECTION 7.
