MDA FIRE FIGHTER APPRECIATION MONTH
MAY 2009
WHEREAS, the Fire Fighters have been working with the Muscular Dystrophy
Association in their fight against neuromuscular disease for over 55
years; and
WHEREAS, in 2008, the U. S. Fire Fighters raised more than $27 million
throughout the country in support of the Muscular Dystrophy
Association's many causes; Los Angeles County 1014 raised more
than $360,000; and
WHEREAS, through their daily service to communities and their dedication to the
Muscular Dystrophy Association, our local Fire Fighters contribute
greatly to the well-being of all citizens; and
WHEREAS. in honor of the effort of our local Fire Fighters, the Muscular
Dystrophy Association is sponsoring May as "Fire Fighters
Appreciation" month.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Rosemead hereby proclaim May 2009 as "Fire Fighters Appreciation" month and
congratulate Fire Station #4 for their continued support of the Muscular Dystrophy
Association in their fight against neuromuscular diseases.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of May 2009.
