RE: AUTHORIZATION FOR LODGING - PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, SEPTEMBER
30, 1995
Earlier this week, some members of the City Council were invited to attend a meeting with Governor
Pete Wilson in which the Governor will address those in attendance with a speech entitled "The
Power of Ideas the Courage to Make Them Happen." The meeting is scheduled for Saturday,
September 30 at the Palm Desert Marriott. Because the meeting is scheduled in the early evening,
it would be a hardship for Council members to attend the meeting and return to Rosemead during the
same evening. Therefore, it is recommended that the Council approve one night's stay in Palm Desert
for those members of the Council invited to attend the meeting.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize those members of the Council invited to Governor
Wilson's presentation in Palm Desert to spend one night in a local hotel after the meeting.
