REGULAR AD HOC YOUTH COMMITTEE MEETING
November 12, 2009
The regular meeting of the Rosemead AD HOC Youth committee was called to order by
Chair Roxanne Tuong at 6:00 p.m. in the Garvey Park Public Service Center, located at
7933 Emerson Place, Rosemead, California.

OFFICIALS PRESENT: Chair Tuong, Vice-chair Chen, Committee Member Hallinan,
Committee Member Dao, Committee Member.Loc, Committee Member Quezada.
ABSENT: Committee Member Amezcua
1. PUBLIC COMMENT FROM AUDIENCE
None
2. CONSENT CALENDAR
None
3. MATTERS FROM STAFF
A) Report from Oktoberfest
All seven committee members were able to attend the event and had the
chance to volunteer in the City's information booth and mingle with the
public.
B) Upcoming Events
Committee Members were asked to attend the Joint City Council meeting
November 17, 2009. All six in present confirmed they would attend.
Staff would contact Committee Member Amezcua with details.
Committee Members were also informed that the City of Rosemead would be
hosting its first annual Lunar New Year event on January 23, 2010 from 10:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Staff would have more specific information for the
Committee on their next regular meeting date. Staff would contact Committee
Member Amezcua with details.
4. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION-COMMITTEE MEMBERS
A) Youth in Government Program
Committee agreed to give the sub-committee more time to discuss this matter
and have a detailed proposal at the-next regular scheduled meeting.
B) Environmental Fair
Item was discussed and Committee Member Dao proposed the city get
involved in the Earth Day Challenge. Also, inquired about the city
implementing more recycling programs through out the various facilities.
C) Location of Next Meeting
Committee Member Chen made a motion, seconded by Committee Chair
Truong to have the next scheduled regular meeting at the Public Safety
Center. Vote resulted in:
Yes: Tuong, Chen, Dao, Haltinan, Loc, Quezada
No: None
Abstain: None
Absent: Amezcua
5. ADJOURNMENT
The next regular AD HOC Youth Committee meeting is scheduled to take place
on January 14, 2010 at 6:00 pm at the Public Safety Center located at 8301
Garvey Avenue, Rosemead, CA 91770.
