RE: AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE REPLACEMENT VEHICLE - UNIT #1
The proposed 1988-198.9 budget includes a replacement for the City
Manager's vehicle. It has been determined that the transmission on
the vehicle needs major repair work. Therefore, we would like to
replace the vehicle as soon as possible.
Staff obtained three bids for a 1988 Buick Park Avenue. The results
were as follows:
O'Donnell Buick - $13,997.00 (Includes trade-in of $5,600 for 185
Park Avenue)
Thorson Buick - $14,023.00 (Includes trade-in of $5,600 for 185
Park Avenue)

Reynolds Buick - $14,284.32 (Includes trade-in of $5,125 for 185
Park Avenue)
All prices also include a $1,000 rebate by General Motors.
The low bidder, O'Donnell Buick, has agreed to take the current
vehicle in trade immediately, and receive payment after July 1, 1988,
when the 1988-89 budget takes effect.
It is recommdended that the City Council authorize the following:
(1) Payment in full for the $4,560.95 owed currently on the 1985
Buick Park Avenue.
(2) The purchase of a 1988 Buick Park Avenue from O'Donnell
Buick for the sum of $13,997.00 and trade-in of the 1985
Buick.
