SUBJECT: ANNUAL CALIFORNIA CHAPTER APA CONFERENCE
OCTOBER 20-22, 2001 - SACRAMENTO
This is a request for attendance to the-annual Planning Conference sponsored by the California
Chapter of the American Planning Association (CCAPA). This year's conference is being held in
Sacramento and is scheduled for Saturday October 20' through Monday October 22nd.
Discussions will focus on how Planners can work with their Legislators in shaping the future of
cities. Additional topics to be covered include: Collaborative Planning; Community Engagement;
Technology; Local Planning; Growth; Regional Issues; and Energy Challenges. Attached is a
conference schedule of events.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the attendance of the Planning Director to the
annual CCAPA conference.
