SUBJECT: 2026 NATIONAL RECREATION AND PARKS ASSOCIATION ANNUAL
CONFERENCE — PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA
The City Council will consider authorizing the Director of Parks and Recreation to attend the 2026
National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) Annual Conference in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, from September 29, 2026, to October 1, 2026.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the Director of Parks and Recreation to attend
the 2026 NRPA Annual Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from September 29, 2026, to
October 1, 2026.
ANALYSIS
The Expense and Use of Public Resources Policy, adopted by City Council Resolution
No. 2005-47, requires City Council approval for out-of-state travel beyond an adjacent state.
Funding for this purpose is contained in the City's annual budget.
