Attached is a letter from David Bernal, President of the Rosemead Kids Wrestling Club
requesting approval of their application. They are based in Rosemead and are supported by
Rosemead High School. Their initial application was incomplete and staff requested that they
re-submit their application. We are recommending approval which will bring the total number of
fireworks permits to fourteen.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council approve the fireworks stand permit for the Rosemead
Kids Wrestling Club.

I am writing this letter with the purpose in mind that the City of Rosemead re-
consider allowing the Rosemead Kids Wrestling Club (RKWC) to raise money by
selling TNT Fireworks from July 1, 2004 through July 4, 2004.
The RKWC is a non-profit organization that enables youth of the Rosemead
community to receive a high standard of coaching and athletic opportunity.
Currently, with the support of Rosemead High School, RKWC offers Rosemead
kids a great facility to train and learn wrestling. However, in order to follow
through with our goal in mind of giving kids a chance to compete and develop as
wrestlers, we are dependent on the money raised by such fundraisers as
fireworks stands.
We sincerely hope that the City reconsiders allowing us to sell fireworks this
summer, as our club's future depends on the money we will be able to raise. As
an organization, we have already provided many of the Rosemead kids an
introduction to the sport of wrestling, and we look to the help of the City to
continue our endeavors.
