RE: AUTHORIZATION TO ATTEND 90TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE
OF THE INTERNATIONAL CITY MANAGERS ASSOCIATION
OCTOBER 17-20,2004, SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA
This year's conference includes sessions on Citizen Surveys, Building a Better Relationship with
your Elected Officials, Successful Project Management for Smaller Communities, and various
sessions on economic development and redevelopment projects. The City Council has
authorized attendance in the past.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the attendance of the City Manager at the
annual City Manager's conference in San Diego.

EVENING'S MEETING IN THE MEMORY OF:
Encinita Elementary School student, Bryesna "Chilli" Limbrick, who was
slain on Sunday, July 18`h, outside a 7-Eleven convenience store in the City
of El Monte. Chilli, who was only six years old, was gunned down while
leaving the store with her uncle. They had gone to the store to buy ice cream,
candy and drinks.
We mourn her passing and are outraged by such a senseless crime.
