SUBJECT: DISCUSSION AND DIRECTION ON DRAFTING A LETTER TO THE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REGARDING
THE SELECTION PROCESS FOR SHERIFF CAPTAINS
SUMMARY
Council Member Ly requested that this item be placed on the agenda for further discussion and
direction. He would like to send a letter expressing concerns regarding the current selection
process for the Los Angeles County Sheriff Captain.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council discuss and provide direction.
