Valley Blvd Rosemead, CA 91770 Dear Jeff: TELEPHONE' Is. vl vvv.v00~ As you know, one of the subjects discussed at the meeting you attended last week with SCE., Chicago Title and California Federal was the possibility of the three companies co-sponsoring a Rideshare Fair in the fall. All three companies are already planning events for Rideshare Day, Thursday, September 10, 1992. The prospect of a joint effort generated great enthusiasm because the companies could share vendor resources and avoid duplication of effort. A joint event could also pave the way for future partnerships related to AQMD ride reduction requirements. It was felt that attendance would be maximized if the fair was held on "neutral ground" rather than at one of the three companies. we would therefore like to explore the possibility of closing Rush Street between Walnut Grove and Delta from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The actual fair will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. but the vendors will need set up and take down time. Based on past events, there will be food, entertainment, vehicles and displays from RTD, LACTC and others. We expect to attract about 1,500 participants from the three companies. We hope the city will give favorable consideration to our request. We realize there will be some inconvenience to residents and we would be willing to help notify our neighbors of the street's closure. We have already spoken with the Garvey School District and they have no problem with the closure as long as the parents are notified. Mr. Jeff Stewart July 9, 1992 Page 2 We would certainly hope that the city officials would join us for the festivities and perhaps have a booth at the fair to promote the city fs programs. The general public could also be invited to attend the fair. Please let me know if you think our request is feasible. If you have any questions or need additional information, do not hesitate to call. sincerely, Enid Joffe EJ:kd cc: Carol McCarthy, California Federal Teresa Smit, Southern California Edison Ron Scott, Chicago Title
