SALE OF SURPLUS LAND (APN:5285-005-913) TO THE GARVEY SCHOOL DISTRICT In accordance with Government Code Section 54220 et sea., the Rosemead Redevelopment Agency may dispose of surplus land by offering for sale to other public agencies. Garvey School District has made a formal offer to purchase the subject psi cel. - I Recommendation: Approve the sale of surplus land (APN: 5285-005-913) to the Garvey School District for $30,500. 3. ACCEPTANCE OF BIDS AND AWARD FOR THE CONVERSION OF ELECTRICAL PANELS FROM OVERHEAD TO UNDERGROUND ON SAN GABRIEL BOULEVARD (GARVEY/HELLMAN) On Thursday, January 13, 2000, bids were received for the subject project, which provides for the conversion of the electrical service from overhead to underground on San Gabriel Boulevard between Garvey Avenue and Hellman Avenue. The overhead utilities are being relocated underground by Southern California Edison Cornpany pursuant to PUC Rule 20A guidelines. National Electrical Contractors Inc. submitted the lowest bid. Recommendation- Accept all bids and award the project to National Electrical Contractors, Inc., in the amount of $85,200.00; and authorize the Chairman to sign the contract on behalf of the Agency. v K-' :tA.A:I-ZS-0C Page ft l 1• 4. AUTHORIZATION TO FILE THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION AND ACCEPT THE GARVEY POOL BATH HOUSE RE-ROOFING PROJECT The old roof at Garvey Park Pool Bathhouse leaked and needed to be replaced. Recommendation: Agency accept the project, approve the additional cost of $500.00, and authorize staff to file the Notice of Completion. 5. -/AUTHORIZATION TO FILE THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION AND ACCEPT THE ROSEMEAD POOL BOILER PROJECT Agency authorized replacement of Rosemead Pool boiler. This project is now complete. Recommendation: Accept the project and authorize staff to file the Notice of Completion. 6. ADDITIONAL GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION FOR THE GARVEY AVENUE SENIOR HOUSING AND COMMUNITY CENTER The RRA is constructing a 25,000 square ibot community center and 72 unit housing complex at 9018 Garvey Avenue. Since the site contains un-compacted fill, staff is recommending that the Agency authorize an additional test at a cost not to exceed $9,500.00. Recommendation: GRC recommends that the Agency authorize the Executive Director to enter into a contract with Jerry Kovacs and Associates pursuant to their proposal. MATTERS FROM OFFICIALS 8.
