TRIPEPI, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FROM: KEN RUKAVINA, CITY ENGINEER [~"r DATE: FEBRUARY 15. 2000 RE: AUTHORIZATION TO GRANT EASEMENT FOR ROAD AND PUBLIC UTILITY PURPOSES AT 2642 NEW AVENUE On January 25, 2000, the Rosemead Redevelopment Agency approved the sale of surplus land at 2642 New Avenue to the Garvey School District. As part of the documentation for the transfer of this property, a 16-foot easement along the Egley Avenue frontage is required to be held by the City for road and public utility purposes. Egley Avenue is fully improved with curb, gutter and sidewalk in this area. This easement will allow the existing street and sidewalk improvements to remain under the jurisdiction of the City of Rosemead as public right-of-way. The attached easement deed will provide for this dedication. Upon the Redevelopment Agency authorizing the granting of this easement to the City of Rosemead, subsequent City Council action will be required for the acceptance of the easement by the City. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the Rosemead Redevelopment Agency authorize the granting of the easement to the City of Rosemead and authorize the Chairman to sign the easement deed.
