Recommendation: Adopt Resolution No. 01 -35, for payment of City
expenditures.
IV. CONSENT CALENDAR -RECOMMENDATION: APPROVAL
CC -A AUTHORIZATION TO ATTEND CITY CLERKS NEW LAW AND
ELECTION SEMINAR — DECEMBER 5-7,2001, MONTEREY
This year's seminar will include such topics as Continuity of Government
and You, Voter Outreach, Election Basics and FPPC Outreach Program
and Update.
Recommendation: Authorize the attendance of the City Clerk.

CC-13 REQUEST FROM ROSEMEAD HIGH SCHOOL TO CONTRIBUTE
$2900 TOWARD THE COST OF THE 14 ANNUAL RUN /WALK
AGAINST DRUGS, ALCOHOL & TOBACCO ON SATURDAY,
OCTOBER 27. 2001
Rosemead High School is requesting that the City contribute $2900
towards the cost of purchasing t -shirts that each participant receives in the
annual Run Walk Against Drugs.
Recommendation: Approve the request in the amount of $2900.
i/ CC -C AUTHORIZATION TO ATTEND LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES
L FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SEMINAR, DECEMBER 6-7,2001,
MONTEREY
Some of the topics covered will be financial planning, forecasting and
budgeting.
Recommendation: Authorize the attendance of the Finance Director.
V. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION AND ACTION
A. REQUEST FROM TFIE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES TO
PARTICIPATE IN THE GRASSROOTS NETWORK AND
AUTHORIZE THE SUBSEQUENT INCREASE IN ANNUAL DUES
The League of California Cities has provided information regarding the
League's Grassroots Network Program and an invoice for $2,232 for the
City's share of the start-up costs from July through December of 2001.
The program will organize local constituencies to communicate with their
elected representatives on selected issues.
Recommendation: If the Council is in favor of the Network, it would be
appropriate to direct staff to pay the invoice.
