ZERUNYAN, PRESIDENT - LAURA OLHASSO, CHAIIt DENNIS ZINE, VICE CHAIR LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE SacYamento Legislative Orientation Tout JanuaYy I Z-14, 2009 The Sacramento Legislative Orientation Tour is in its 42"d year. The Hyatt Regency Sacramento will serve as the conference headquarters. The Independent Cities Association (ICA) has committed to participate for the second year. Together as a team the CCCA and ICA, representing over 14 million residents will cram the halls of our State Capitol in a united effort to be heard. We urge all members of the two Associations to attend and to encourage their neighboring cities to participate. We want our concerns to be considered and are counting'.on the support of both our memberships. ' These are very tough economic times for local, state and federal governments. Businesses and private citizens are looking for answers from the cities, counties and the state. Our contract cities must garner all the available information to keep the residents they serve aware of any impacts upon their welfare. The history of this tour has proven to be effective in not only developing relationships with our legislators but it also provides us with the opportunity for face to face contact and a vehicle for open discussion on pertinent issues. The program will include: Individual meetings with newly elected and returning legislators; informative sessions with state department heads, State Senate, Assembly Leadership, and Constitutional Officers; and a reception inviting all Legislators and Constitutional Officers.
